LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT BEGINS GRADUATE INTERNSHIP SCHEME



The Lagos State Government is commencing its graduate internship scheme with every recipient set to get N25,000 monthly.Lagos State Government Begins Graduate Internship Scheme 

Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Babatunde Durosimi-Etti, said 2000 young graduates are relied upon to benefit from the pilot scheme.

In his speech yesterday after meeting with stakeholders in Lagos, said the first batch of beneficiaries would be serve at different work arrangements for three months.

He said the program will give people from different backgrounds the chance to perceive what a career in the private sector is, and in addition to be aquianted with the wide scope of chances available across the industry.

The internships are open to youthful graduates who are yet to engaged, or are underemployed. Durosimi-Etti said interns will be furnished with an intensive programme of support and improvement, including an induction procedure and regular development sessions.

He said candidates are required to finish and present the online application form.

The commissioner said the State Government expects the interns, not only to be offered full-time positions with the business they interned for, but that some interns are expected to start their own companies.
